Web Systems

My work in web systems covers the full stack of web development — front end interfaces, server infrastructure, backend applications, database integration, authentication, and content systems. Projects range from bespoke custom builds to implementations on established frameworks and proprietary tooling, across commercial, institutional, and production contexts.

Front End

Front end development is built on direct command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — structure, styling, and behavior handled without abstraction where precision and control are required. Interface work is informed by adjacent design capabilities in typography, visual hierarchy, and layout, with UI and UX decisions made in consideration of both visual quality and interaction behavior across device contexts.

Layouts are developed to function across screen sizes and device types, with responsive behavior treated as a structural concern from the outset rather than a retrofit. SEO implementation covers semantic structure, metadata, and technical requirements, while pagination and content organization are handled at the development level to support both user navigation and search indexing.

Server Infrastructure

Remote Hosting and Deployment

Server infrastructure work covers remote environment setup, configuration, deployment pipelines, and ongoing management of hosting environments across cloud and dedicated infrastructure.

Game Server Deployment

Game server deployment covers the infrastructure and web communications layer required to run online game servers — environment setup, deployment, and operational configuration handled directly.

Server Applications

Backend application development covers server-side logic, API design and implementation, and the application layer that runs the operational core of a web system. Backend systems are developed in coordination with front end and database layers to produce coherent, maintainable full-stack architectures.

Database

Database integration covers selection, configuration, and implementation of database systems within web projects — schema design, data modeling, and query optimization handled in coordination with the application and data architecture layers.

Authentication and Security

Authentication systems cover user identity, session management, access control, and integration of established security standards within web applications. Security considerations are applied at the application and infrastructure level.

Content and Publishing Systems

CMS configuration, blogging systems, archive structures, and media gallery implementations are handled across both custom and platform-based solutions. Content systems are developed to support editorial workflows, long-term publishing, and structured content presentation.

Templates and DIY Platforms

Setup, configuration, customization, and training on mainstream template-based platforms including Squarespace, Wix, and equivalent solutions. These are deployed where they serve the project requirements and managed to the level of complexity the client requires.

Proprietary Frameworks and Tools

A proprietary set of front end, server, and dynamic content tools forms the basis of my own project deployments. These tools are developed and maintained as a personal development framework — refined across real production use and available where projects benefit from them. Client projects are not required to adopt them.

Popular Frameworks and Solutions

Web projects frequently require work within established framework ecosystems. React, Vue, Next.js, and equivalent solutions are handled directly, alongside other frameworks a project may already be built on or require. The approach is framework-agnostic — the right tool for the project context rather than a fixed stack.

Catalogue Raisonné Web Systems

A specialization in the web presentation layer for catalogue raisonné data systems. These implementations connect structured catalogue data artifacts to public-facing web interfaces — search, filtering, artwork display, and scholarly reference features developed specifically for artist catalogue contexts. This work operates in direct coordination with the catalogue raisonné data architecture capability.
