I developed visual identity and associated design materials for Andrew Stevovich: Familiar Faces, an exhibition at Adelson Galleries, on view March 24 through April 25, 2015. The exhibition presented figurative paintings by Andrew Stevovich and traveled to Adelson Galleries Boston, with a shared catalogue produced for both presentations.

Scope of Work

  • Development of the exhibition's visual identity.
  • Design of environmental graphics, including wall title lettering.
  • Design of exhibition invitation.
  • Design of price list.
  • Design of full-page advertisement for Gallery Guide magazine.
  • Design of weekly print advertisement campaign for The New York Times.
  • Design of exhibition catalogue (print and digital).
  • Development and maintenance of exhibition web presence.
  • Image preparation for print and digital use.

Visual Identity

A visual identity was developed for the exhibition and applied consistently across all associated materials. This established the typographic language, layout structure, and graphic approach used throughout the deliverables produced.

Environment

These materials were designed for installation in the physical space of the exhibition. In all cases I coordinated with the producer to ensure quality and accuracy.

Title Lettering

The exhibition title was produced as vinyl adhesive lettering and applied directly to the gallery wall.

Invitation

A square card invitation was designed with a custom vellum envelope, allowing the artwork on the card to be visible through the translucent envelope. The invitation was mailed to the gallery's mailing list and distributed as a takeaway at the exhibition. I ensured compliance with mailing standards and coordinated with the printer to maintain production quality.

Catalogue

A full exhibition catalogue was designed, running 60 pages exclusive of cover. The catalogue opens with an introduction by Adam Adelson followed by a plate section of works in the exhibition. The catalogue was produced by Adelson Galleries and shared across both the New York and Boston presentations. I attended the print facility in person to oversee production and ensure color accuracy. The catalogue was also adapted to a digital format for online display and distribution.
