I developed visual identity and associated design materials for Andrew Wyeth: Seven Decades, an exhibition at Adelson Galleries, on view November 18 through December 20, 2014. The exhibition presented a survey of Andrew Wyeth's work across seven decades, drawing from private collections with many works never before exhibited publicly.

Scope of Work

  • Development of the exhibition's visual identity.
  • Design of environmental graphics, including wall title lettering.
  • Design of exhibition brochure.
  • Design of full-page advertisement for Art & Antiques magazine.
  • Design of weekly print advertisement campaign for The New York Times.
  • Design of exhibition catalogue (print and digital).
  • Development and maintenance of exhibition web presence.
  • Image preparation for print and digital use.

Visual Identity

A visual identity was developed for the exhibition and applied consistently across all associated materials. This established the typographic language, layout structure, and graphic approach used throughout the deliverables produced.

Environment

These materials were designed for installation in the physical space of the exhibition. In all cases I coordinated with the producer to ensure quality and accuracy.

Title Lettering

The exhibition title was produced as vinyl adhesive lettering and applied directly to the gallery wall.

Brochure

A three-panel exhibition brochure was designed for distribution at the gallery, presenting works from the exhibition alongside an introductory text by Warren Adelson and opening reception details. A custom envelope was designed. I ensured compliance with mailing standards and coordinated with the printer to maintain production quality.

Catalogue

A full exhibition catalogue was designed, running 68 pages exclusive of cover. The catalogue opens with an introduction by Warren Adelson followed by essays by Dr. William H. Gerdts, organized by decade, each presenting a brief introductory text followed by plates of works from that period. I coordinated with the publisher to ensure production quality and accurate color. The catalogue was also adapted to a digital format for online display and distribution.
