Blue Mochipuff is an ongoing practice study in kawaii character design, developed to build fluency in visual appeal languages in support of production art modeling and concept art work.
A Mochipuff is a recurring original character, a spherical creature with flipper arms, sometimes feet, sometimes levitating, and any combination of cat ears, a beak, or whiskers depending on the iteration.

The Mochipuff is rendered in soft blue tones with light cell shading and a gloss highlight across the head. This iteration features a tilted pose with closed eyes and an open diamond beak, giving the character a content, happy expression. Thick, confident line art gives the character a solid, plush quality. A simple shadow grounds it on the page.
A higher impact hero presentation was produced from a modified version of the illustration for use in certain contexts.
