I designed the exhibition catalogue for Castles in the Sky: Fantasy Architecture in Contemporary Art, a group exhibition curated by Bartholomew F. Bland at the Lehman College Art Gallery and later traveling to the Coral Gables Museum. The exhibition brought together contemporary artists exploring imagined and fantastical architectural forms, filled with color, atmosphere, and conceptual play.

Given the vibrancy and intricacy of the artwork, the design approach favored clarity and restraint. A clean, understated layout allowed the visual impact of the works to speak without distraction. Rather than imposing a heavy thematic overlay, the catalogue used structure, spacing, and pacing to support a wide range of media and artistic voices.

A small number of expressive interlude spreads were introduced throughout the book, including poem and quotation pages with custom graphic elements adapted from the artworks themselves. Atmospheric treatments were also developed for the interior covers, providing moments of visual transition without overwhelming the primary content.

Publication Director Linda Locke was closely involved during the design phase, offering insights that helped refine and elevate the final publication.
