I developed visual identity and associated design materials for A Dark and Stormy Night: Gothic Influence in Contemporary Art, a group exhibition at Lehman College Art Gallery, on view October 28, 2017 through February 10, 2018. The exhibition featured works by 35 artists and was curated by Bartholomew F. Bland, Executive Director of Lehman College Art Gallery.

Scope of Work

  • Development of the exhibition's visual identity.
  • Development of original graphics and vector artwork for use across exhibition materials.
  • Design of environmental graphics, including introductory and artist listing wall panels.
  • Design of exhibition poster.
  • Design of exhibition catalogue (print and digital).
  • Image preparation for print and digital use.

Visual Identity

A visual identity was developed for the exhibition and applied consistently across all associated materials. This established the typographic language, layout structure, and graphic approach used throughout the deliverables produced.

Original Graphics

Original graphics and vector artwork were developed for use across the exhibition materials. Some motifs are derivatives of works featured in the exhibition.

Catalogue

A full exhibition catalogue was designed, running 106 pages exclusive of cover. The catalogue opens with a main essay accompanied by an image layout, followed by individual sections for each participating artist, each containing an essay and reproductions of their work in the exhibition. I coordinated with the publisher to ensure production quality and accurate color. The catalogue was also adapted to a digital format for online display and distribution.
