I designed the exhibition catalogue for Federico Uribe: Animals and Friends in Pencils, Books, and Bullets, accompanying Adelson Galleries’ exhibition of Uribe’s sculptural animal works created from bullet shells, pencils, and cut books. Because the pieces are visually bold and richly textured, the design needed to support the work without competing with it.

The catalogue was structured with clean, open pages and minimal typography, using a contemporary sans-serif typeface chosen to remain visually quiet alongside the sculptures. Generous white space allowed the materials, textures, and forms of the works to take precedence, reinforcing the physicality of Uribe’s constructions.

The cover introduced a more playful tone inspired by the exhibition’s whimsical narrative spirit. A lone rabbit formed from bullet shells was placed on a soft blue field, creating a storybook-like image that set the mood for the volume while remaining consistent with the catalogue’s restrained interior design.
