- Design by Alex Stevovich. Artwork by Federico Uribe
I developed visual identity and associated design materials for Federico Uribe: Drawn in Pencils, an exhibition at Adelson Galleries, on view October 2 through November 15, 2014. The exhibition presented works by Federico Uribe constructed from physical colored pencils.
Scope of Work
- Development of the exhibition's visual identity.
- Design of environmental graphics, including wall title lettering.
- Design of exhibition invitation.
- Design of full-page advertisement for Artforum magazine.
- Design of exhibition catalogue (print and digital).
- Development and maintenance of exhibition web presence.
- Image preparation for print and digital use.
Visual Identity
A visual identity was developed for the exhibition and applied consistently across all associated materials. This established the typographic language, layout structure, and graphic approach used throughout the deliverables produced.
Environment
These materials were designed for installation in the physical space of the exhibition. In all cases I coordinated with the producer to ensure quality and accuracy.
Title Lettering
The exhibition title was produced as vinyl adhesive lettering and applied directly to the gallery wall.

- Title lettering design
Invitation
A folded invitation with a custom envelope was designed for the opening reception. I ensured compliance with mailing standards and coordinated with the printer to maintain production quality.

Artforum
A full-page advertisement was designed for placement in Artforum magazine. I coordinated with the publisher on placement and production specifications to ensure quality.

- Ad design placed in Artforum magazine
Catalogue
A full exhibition catalogue was designed, running 38 pages exclusive of cover. The catalogue opens with an essay by Adam Adelson with images woven throughout, followed by a plate section of works in the exhibition. The cover features a custom embossed map designed to emulate the texture of the colored pencils used in Uribe's work, referencing the painting Hare on the cover. Each plate in the catalogue features a spot gloss treatment applied to the artwork images. I oversaw production on this catalogue, including in-person color correction at the print facility, to ensure the accuracy of the emboss, gloss treatments, and overall print quality. The catalogue was also adapted to a digital format for online display and distribution.

Web
As the web developer for Adelson Galleries, I integrated the exhibition into the gallery's website, including updates to the exhibition history, virtual gallery, and homepage.
Technical
I was responsible for image preparation, including color balance, cropping, and preparing files for print and digital use. This project required complex isolation of artwork from backgrounds, both for page display and for the preparation of spot gloss plates throughout the catalogue.
