A graphic illustration produced as part of an ongoing series of heraldic paper cut studies, exploring emergent symbols and visual concepts through flat color and strict geometric composition.
Scope of Work
- Concept and symbol exploration.
- Production of vector artwork.
Illustration
The heraldic paper cut series uses flat color, geometric form, and bilateral symmetry to explore themes and symbols as early concept passes. Each piece functions as a process of discovery, with small curves, forms, and compositional insights pointing toward future minimalization.
This piece explores nature themes — animals, fauna, insects, forests, and seeds — through the figure of the stag beetle. A large central seed or pod form contains a stack of nested geometric triangles descending from apex to base, suggesting forest canopy, growth, and layered natural structure. Stylized antlers crown the form above, flanked by feathered wing elements. Leaf and plant forms emerge from the base, rooting the composition to the ground. Pink accent curves flank the central body, the only warm note in an otherwise deep green and sage palette set against a pale cream field.
