I designed a weekly newspaper advertisement campaign for The Journal News, produced for Hudson River Museum. This entry documents the year 2014, during which each advertisement was built on a consistent design to present the period's exhibitions, events, and museum information. I coordinated with Linda Locke, Publication Director, throughout the project.

Scope of Work

  • Design of a weekly newspaper advertisement campaign for The Journal News.
  • Coordination with the publisher on placement and production specifications.
  • Image preparation for print use.

Advertisement Deliverables

A weekly advertisement campaign was designed for The Journal News, running throughout the course of 2014 to present the museum's exhibitions, events, and program information. Each ad covered a mix of content specific to that week, including current exhibitions, upcoming events, movie and concert programming, and planetarium scheduling. I coordinated with the publisher on placement and production specifications to ensure quality, including color reproduction in newsprint.

Given the rapid pace of the deliverables, the goal was a controlled and reusable design system that could be easily iterated on and published on a weekly basis throughout the year. A set of colored themes and strong supporting imagery were used consistently to keep each ad legible and distinct within the surrounding newspaper content.
