I designed an MTA advertising campaign, including a transit poster and a promotional mailer, produced for Jordan Matter: Dancers Among Us, an exhibition at Hudson River Museum, October 17, 2015 through January 17, 2016. The exhibition presented Jordan Matter's photographs of dancers in everyday settings.

Scope of Work

  • Design of transit advertisement poster for MTA Metro-North
  • Design of MTA promotional mailer.
  • Coordination with the publisher on production specifications.
  • Image preparation for print use.

A promotional poster was designed for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, part of an arrangement between Hudson River Museum and MTA offering a combined rail and museum discount package. The poster was seen by commuters throughout the system over the course of the exhibition's run.

A two-sided promotional mailer was also designed to MTA specifications as part of the same arrangement. The mailer promoted the exhibition alongside a programming schedule for Gallery Stage Dance events held in conjunction with the show.

Both pieces drew on the visual identity established for the exhibition, applying its typographic language and layout structure across formats. Given the subject matter, the design gave Jordan Matter's photography room to carry the pieces, with supporting text and the museum's discount offer kept clearly legible.

Technical

I was responsible for image preparation, including color balance, cropping, isolation of artwork from backgrounds, and preparing files for print use.
