I developed the brand identity for Lydio, a proprietary programmatic HTML writing approach that has solidified into a stable pattern across multiple scripting languages. The brand is designed to unify the project's component-based outputs under a single recognizable mark, and to give the work a character-driven presence across tutorials, documentation, and shared modular content.
Scope of Work
- Development of visual identity and concept.
- Design of wordmark.
- Design of monogram.
- Design and illustration of brand mascot.
- Development of illustrated logo lockups in horizontal and square formats.
- Development of hero graphic.
- Development of variants.
- Production of vector artwork for final outputs.
Identity
The goal was an approachable, characterful identity that could carry Lydio's brand across a range of contexts — from technical documentation to tutorial content — without feeling dry or corporate. The mascot gives the project a recurring narrative presence: Lydio, a mint-green cat with fangs and a tilted wizard's hat, designed to be charming and expressive across any format she appears in.
The color palette — deep forest green, bright mint, and pink — carries a playful energy that ties the mascot to the wordmark system throughout.
Deliverables
A set of graphics were developed as an initial package of branding assets. All final artwork was produced as digital vector illustrations.
Lettering

- Lydio Wordmark

A blocky, slightly tech-inflected letterform set in mixed case, with a distinctive square counter on the o and a bright mint green rectangle at the foot of the y — a graphic accent that recurs across the mark system. Pink sparkle elements float above the lettering, adding levity and tying the type to the mascot's wizard hat.

An Ly pairing in the wordmark's letterforms, with the green rectangle accent carried over from the y. Functions as a compact mark for small-scale use — favicon, watermark, or emblem — while remaining unmistakably part of the same system.
Illustrated Logo
Lydio is a round-faced mint-green cat with large expressive eyes, small fangs, and a tilted wizard's hat — rendered in a flat graphic style with bold outlines and a limited palette of forest green, mint, and pink. The character emerged from a continuity of earlier, simpler iterations, arriving at a design that is immediately readable at any scale and expressive enough to carry narrative weight across tutorials and documentation. The fangs and wizard's hat are her defining signatures — playful without being aggressive, magical without being overwrought.

Development
The color palette draws unexpected inspiration from spumoni ice cream — the combination of deep green, bright mint, and pink maps naturally to the dessert's classic pistachio, cream, and cherry layers. The palette gives the brand a playful warmth that complements the wizard cat mascot without tipping into anything too loud or competitive.
