Marle Brand Identity

I developed the brand identity for Marle, a proprietary article data format and content notation standard used across my publishing and documentation workflows. The brand is designed to be recognizable as a product mark while remaining neutral and versatile enough to suit a wide range of authors and content creators.

Scope of Work

Development of visual identity and concept.
Design of wordmark.
Design of illustrated logo mark.
Development of illustrated logo lockups in horizontal and square formats.
Development of dark background variant.
Production of vector artwork for final outputs.

Identity

The goal was a calm, approachable identity — something that sits comfortably across content of any kind without asserting a strong personality of its own. The palette draws on muted, earthy tones: teal, terracotta, lavender, and amber, chosen for warmth and versatility rather than brand intensity. The wordmark is set in lowercase serif, unhurried and readable, reinforcing the same quiet confidence.

Deliverables

A set of graphics were developed as an initial package of branding assets. All final artwork was produced as digital vector illustrations.

Lettering

A lowercase serif wordmark, warm and unassuming. The letterforms are grounded and legible without being stiff — suited to editorial and documentation contexts alike.

Illustrated Logo

An open book rendered as a butterfly, its pages fanning into wings on either side of a central spine. Stacked pages in accent colors peek from behind each wing, suggesting depth and layered content. The form reads simultaneously as a book mid-page and a butterfly in flight — a natural fit for a format built around the life of written content.
