I developed visual identity and associated design materials for Picasso / Vollard: Prints from the Stock of the Artist's Publisher, an exhibition produced by Marc Rosen Fine Art and presented at Adelson Galleries, on view October 6 through November 14, 2015. The exhibition presented prints by Pablo Picasso from the stock of Ambroise Vollard, Picasso's publisher and dealer. Ambroise Vollard was among the most significant art dealers and publishers of the early 20th century, and the prints from his stock represent some of the most historically important works in Picasso's printed oeuvre.

Scope of Work

  • Development of the exhibition's visual identity.
  • Design of environmental graphics, including wall title lettering.
  • Design of exhibition invitation.
  • Design of full-page advertisement for the International Fine Print Dealers Association.
  • Design of weekly print advertisement campaign for The New York Times.
  • Design of exhibition catalogue (print and digital).
  • Development and maintenance of exhibition web presence.
  • Image preparation for print and digital use.

Visual Identity

A visual identity was developed for the exhibition and applied consistently across all associated materials. This established the typographic language, layout structure, and graphic approach used throughout the deliverables produced.

Environment

These materials were designed for installation in the physical space of the exhibition. In all cases I coordinated with the producer to ensure quality and accuracy.

Title Lettering

The exhibition title was produced as vinyl adhesive lettering and applied directly to the gallery wall.
