I developed visual identity and associated design materials for *Pintando: Colors of Education*, an exhibition of masterpieces by renowned 20th century Mexican artists at Lehman College Art Gallery, on view August 13 through September 22, 2018. The exhibition was presented by Lehman College Art Gallery, Mexico's National Commission of Public Textbooks, and the Consulate General of Mexico in New York, and was curated by Bartholomew F. Bland, Executive Director of Lehman College Art Gallery.

Scope of Work

  • Development of the exhibition's visual identity.
  • Development of original graphics and vector artwork for use across exhibition materials.
  • Design of environmental graphics, including title lettering, banner, artist listing panel, introductory panels, and theme panels.
  • Design of exhibition poster.
  • Design of visual email campaign.
  • Design of exhibition invitation.
  • Image preparation for print and digital use.

Visual Identity

A visual identity was developed for the exhibition and applied consistently across all associated materials. This established the typographic language, layout structure, and graphic approach used throughout the deliverables produced.

Original Graphics

Original graphics and vector artwork were developed for use across the exhibition materials. Some motifs are derivatives of works featured in the exhibition.

Print

Invitation

A folded invitation was designed in postcard format, sealed for mailing and opened upon removal of the seal to reveal the invitation inside. I ensured compliance with mailing standards and coordinated with the printer to maintain production quality.

Title Lettering

The exhibition title was produced as vinyl adhesive lettering and applied directly to the gallery wall. Example shown is presented on a color background for presentation purposes; the lettering was produced in black.
