I designed a promotional poster for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, produced for Promoting the President, an exhibition at Hudson River Museum, February 7 through May 17, 2015. The exhibition explored images of George Washington organized around four themes: Hero-General, Portraits, Memorials and Mementos, and Man or Myth.

Scope of Work

  • Design of promotional poster for the MTA Metro-North transit system.
  • Coordination with the museum on placement and production specifications.
  • Image preparation for print use.

Advertisement Deliverables

A promotional poster was designed for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, part of an arrangement between Hudson River Museum and MTA offering a combined rail and museum discount package. The poster was seen by commuters throughout the system over the course of the exhibition's run.

The design drew on the visual identity established for the exhibition, applying its typographic language and layout structure to the transit format. Given the historical subject matter, the poster paired imagery of George Washington with the exhibition's title treatment and discount offer, built for quick recognition within the transit environment.

Technical

I was responsible for image preparation, including color balance, cropping, isolation of artwork from backgrounds, and preparing files for print use.
