- Web Design by Alex Stevovich
I designed and developed the website for Rose Rundin, a curated resale and lifestyle brand dealing in found objects, vintage clothing patterns, and other interesting things, launched in 2015. The site functions as a minimal, clean business front and unified hub, directing visitors to the brand's various marketplace storefronts and associated content under a single coherent web presence.
The visual identity, including the wordmark, logo mark, and hero graphic, was developed as a separate branding engagement. The website applies that established identity as its design foundation. Full documentation of the brand identity work is covered in the Rose Rundin graphic design entry.
Scope of Work
- Website architecture and design.
- Front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Lydio-authored static HTML implementation.
- Visual identity application across web presence.
- Storefront and platform hub integration.
- Responsive layout implementation.
- Search engine optimization including structured metadata.
- Accessibility implementation.
- Ongoing site maintenance.
Design Approach
The site was designed to be a minimal and clean business front, presenting the Rose Rundin brand with clarity and directing visitors efficiently to its various platform presences. The established brand palette of dusty rose and warm gold carries through the web presentation, with the ornate cruciform logo mark and distinctive wordmark anchoring the identity. The site does not attempt to replicate the functionality of the marketplace platforms it links to, but establishes the brand as a coherent and considered entity with a central home on the web.
Technical Approach
The site's requirements are straightforward: it functions as a hub and does not require complex server-side logic or dynamic content generation. The site is served as a static server with pages authored in Lydio, my custom HTML rendering framework, providing a clean and maintainable implementation suited to the site's scope.
Responsive
A fully responsive layout was implemented to ensure consistent presentation across screen sizes and devices.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Structured metadata was implemented to support search indexing and discoverability for the brand and its associated platform presences.
Accessibility
The site was developed with attention to accessibility standards. Clear semantic structure and consistent navigation patterns were prioritized throughout.
