I designed a promotional poster for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, produced for Strut: The Peacock and Beauty in Art, an exhibition at Hudson River Museum, October 11, 2014 through January 18, 2015. The exhibition traced the peacock as a subject through art history and contemporary practice.

Scope of Work

  • Design of promotional poster for the MTA Metro-North transit system.
  • Coordination with the museum on placement and production specifications.
  • Image preparation for print use.

Advertisement Deliverables

A promotional poster was designed for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, part of an arrangement between Hudson River Museum and MTA offering a combined rail and museum discount package. The poster was seen by commuters throughout the system over the course of the exhibition's run.

The design drew on the visual identity established for the exhibition, applying its typographic language and layout structure to the transit format. Given the decorative subject matter, the poster made use of the peacock's strong visual presence to draw attention within the transit environment, paired with the exhibition's title treatment and discount offer.

Technical

I was responsible for image preparation, including color balance, cropping, isolation of artwork from backgrounds, and preparing files for print use.
