I developed Skyliners, cover concept art and character design produced for Super Miko: Enchanted Getaways, a project exploring creative writing and production art within a colorful, flexible franchise style built for wide character and world variety.
Scope of Work
- Character design and illustration.
- Cover concept art and visual style conceptualization.
- Production of composable vector artwork for motion illustration.
Deliverables
A set of graphics were developed as an initial package of branding assets. All final artwork was produced as digital vector illustrations.
Illustration
The piece introduces Miko, a white furred cat character styled as an airline captain, set against a bright sky scattered with clouds and passing planes trailing white contrails. Miko wears a fitted navy uniform jacket with a striped cuff and gold buttons, tipping a teal peaked cap trimmed in gold braid in a confident salute. Her expression carries a sly, knowing energy, deep maroon eye makeup and a fanged grin giving the character a playful, capable presence in keeping with her many talents as pilot, steward, mechanic, and travel specialist.
The style favors bold outlines, flat saturated color, and expressive proportions, built to read clearly at a glance and to support a wide range of characters and settings across the wider Enchanted Getaways concept. The wordmark MIKO is set in a rounded blocky sans serif in the lower corner, white against the sky, keeping the focus on the character.
The artwork was used in a website promotional animation, with the planes flying across the sky and Miko exploding into the viewport. To support this, the piece was produced as separate composable sections rather than a single flat image, allowing each element to move independently.
