I designed a promotional poster for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, produced for Thomas Doyle: If the Creek Don't Rise, an exhibition at Hudson River Museum, February 6 through May 8, 2016. The exhibition connected Thomas Doyle's work to Thomas Cole's Course of Empire series, presenting the thematic and historical relationship between the two artists.

Scope of Work

  • Design of promotional poster for the MTA Metro-North transit system.
  • Coordination with the museum on placement and production specifications.
  • Image preparation for print use.

Advertisement Deliverables

A promotional poster was designed for display in the MTA Metro-North transit system, part of an arrangement between Hudson River Museum and MTA offering a combined rail and museum discount package. The poster was seen by commuters throughout the system over the course of the exhibition's run.

The design drew on the visual identity established for the exhibition, applying its typographic language and layout structure to the transit format. The layout was built for quick recognition at a glance, pairing imagery from the exhibition with the title treatment and discount offer.

Technical

I was responsible for image preparation, including color balance, cropping, isolation of artwork from backgrounds, and preparing files for print use.
